Terms

Last updated: June 21, 2026

Ferna (“the app”) is a small side project made by one person. It's free. By installing it, you're agreeing to the things on this page.

Not financial advice

Ferna is a tool for jotting down what you spend. It is not financial, accounting, or tax advice, and the totals and forecasts it shows are estimates based on what you typed. Decisions about your money are yours.

A side project, not a product

The app is provided as-is. It might break. It might get updates. It might stop getting updates. It might be pulled from the store one day. No promises about how long it'll stick around or what it'll look like next year.

Features may come and go. The look of the app may change. Things that worked last week may behave differently next week.

No support, no SLA

There's no support line. Bug reports and feature ideas are welcome, but sending one does not create any obligation on the developer to respond, to fix anything, or to ship anything by any particular date.

Anything you send (feedback, screenshots, suggestions, bug descriptions) is given freely and may be used to improve the app, without compensation and without attribution.

Use it for your own stuff

You get a personal, non-commercial license to use the app on devices you own or control. Don't resell it, repackage it, or take it apart. Don't use it for anything illegal where you live.

No warranty

No warranty of any kind, express or implied. The app may have bugs. It may crash. Data may be lost. The automatic parsing may read an amount wrong, so check your entries. The app may not work on every version of your device's operating system, especially very old ones or beta versions.

Back up anything you actually care about. Exporting to CSV is one way.

No liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, the developer is not liable for any damages of any kind (direct, indirect, incidental, lost data, lost time, lost money, anything else) arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.

The total liability is capped at the amount you paid for the app, which is zero.

Changes

These terms may change as the app changes. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the new version of the terms.

If something here is unenforceable

If a court decides that one part of this is invalid, the rest still stands.
